Method to clear the reminder on the Lavida: 1. Turn off the ignition switch and press the "0.0" button on the instrument panel; 2. Turn on the ignition switch while keeping the "0.0" button pressed; 3. When a message appears on the instrument panel display, release the "0.0" button and select the option to reset the maintenance data; 4. Press the "0.0" button again to confirm. The Lavida is an A-segment car launched by Shanghai Volkswagen. Its onboard navigation system combines touch screen and rotary knob controls and has MP3 playback capability. In terms of body dimensions, the Lavida measures 4605mm in length, 1765mm in width, and 1460mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2610mm.

Last time my car showed a reminder, resetting it was done after an oil change. The procedure is basically universal for Volkswagen models: First, turn the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine. Then, press and hold the reset button at the lower right corner of the instrument cluster. Note that the instrument cluster will go black and reboot, displaying an English prompt. When you see 'SERVICE' flashing, release the button and press the confirmation key on the left menu button of the steering wheel (for higher trim models, use the steering wheel buttons). The key is to hold it long enough—last time I had to hold it for 3 seconds to successfully reset. Once done, the wrench icon will disappear. Remember to perform this operation before starting the engine; doing it with the engine off is the most stable.

Just cleared the light on my Lavida myself, sharing a tested and effective method: 1. Turn off the engine but keep the power on (press the start button twice without stepping on the brake); 2. Press and hold the 0.0/SET button on the right side of the dashboard, for newer models it's in the menu area on the left side of the steering wheel; 3. Continue pressing until the 'Service Now' English menu appears; 4. Release the button and quickly press the OK button on the steering wheel to confirm. The key is to hear a confirmation beep to know it's successful, the whole process takes just over ten seconds. If there's no response, it might be the wrong timing, make sure to operate within one minute after turning on the ignition switch.

Lavida Light Reset Without Visiting the Dealership: With the engine off, press the start button to power on the electronics. Then, long-press the trip reset button on the instrument panel (located on the lower right side of the steering wheel). Pay attention to the screen—it will first display the time and date. Continue holding the button until the maintenance reset option appears. For older models, you may need to press the brake pedal simultaneously, while newer models only require holding the reset button until the prompt flashes, then briefly pressing the confirmation button. After completing the reset, it's recommended to turn off the ignition and restart the car to check if the reset was successful. This method has been personally tested and confirmed effective on my 2015 Lavida. If the reset fails, check the battery voltage, as unstable voltage can affect the operation.

DIY 3-Minute Lavida Reset: 1. Turn off the engine and press the ignition switch twice; 2. Locate the wrench button below the left side of the steering wheel (or the dashboard clock button); 3. Press and hold until the reset menu pops up on the center screen—for VW's new system, rotate the selection knob to the 'Maintenance' item; 4. Release and immediately press the windshield heating button to confirm. This operation can also reset the fuel display. Note that some models require pressing the brake pedal. After resetting, the yellow wrench icon on the dashboard will disappear—much simpler than expected.

The key to resetting the reminder on the Lavida lies in the timing sequence: After the vehicle is completely turned off, press the start button without stepping on the brake to power on, then immediately hold down the 0.0 button on the dashboard. For older models, wait for the clock symbol to flash, while newer models will display an English reset menu. Continue holding the button until the menu changes, then confirm. Key details: 1. The button must be pressed for at least 5 seconds; 2. Models with electronic parking brakes need to release the brake; 3. For vehicles with modified dashboards, pay attention to the changed button positions. There are slight variations between different model years—if the simple method doesn’t work, refer to the manual for specific steps.
