What is the method to adjust the large gap of the Camry hood?

Open the hood to effectively adjust the direction of airflow during vehicle movement and the resistance force acting on the car through the hood's shape. There are black rubber blocks on both sides of the radiator frame, which serve to support the hood. They provide protection in case of hood malfunction. Rotate the black rubber blocks by hand to adjust the gap between the hood and the grille. You can also have it repaired at a maintenance shop. There are two U-shaped tabs on each side of the hood. Remove the plastic clips on top.
I've been driving for years and often fix minor issues myself. Large hood gaps are quite common on the Camry, mainly due to improperly adjusted bump stops or loose screws. When I do it myself, I open the hood, locate the bump stops on both sides (they look like small rubber posts), use a wrench to slightly loosen the fixing screws, then adjust the bump stops up and down while gently closing the hood to check if the gap becomes evenly smaller. After adjustment, tighten the screws to secure them. The whole process requires patience—don’t force it to avoid scratching the paint. If the gap remains large, it’s best to check if the latch is damaged or if the body is deformed. These small fixes can prevent excessive noise or water leakage at high speeds. In short, don’t rush to replace parts—start with the simple fixes first. If you really can’t handle it, it’s best to visit a professional repair shop.
