What is the method for replacing the brake switch top rubber on the new Mondeo?

The brake switch is located above the brake pedal, with two plastic clips supporting it. Use a self-tapping screw and a metric hex key to remove it. After removing the protective cover, the light switch can be seen above the brake pedal. Pinch the clips on both sides with your hand to easily pull it out. This switch features a rotating clip design. It is not recommended for individuals to perform this operation to avoid unnecessary damage.
Last time I replaced this myself in the garage, it was quite simple. First, locate the switch assembly behind the brake pedal, which is clipped onto the pedal bracket. Remember to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to avoid accidents. Then, use a small wrench or pliers to gently twist and remove the fixing screw, allowing you to take out the entire switch. Note that the top rubber pad at the bottom of the switch is the culprit when it ages and cracks, causing the brake lights to malfunction. Align the new rubber pad into its slot and press it in until you hear a click, indicating it's securely in place. Finally, reinstall the switch and test the sensitivity of the brake lights. The whole process takes about half an hour, but the key is not to apply too much force as the parts can easily deform. It's recommended to use original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts for better durability.
