First, use a flathead screwdriver to pry open the center cap of the hub, then use pliers to remove the bearing screw retaining pin and unscrew the bearing screw. If it's too tight, you can use a flathead screwdriver to pry upward from the tire screw hole to loosen the brake, which will make removal easier. Use a flashlight to locate the brake's adjustment lever, which is wider at the top and narrower at the bottom. Gently remove it with needle-nose pliers, and the brake pads can then be taken off.
