What is the method for folding BMW rearview mirrors?

BMW's rearview mirror folding method: There is a rearview mirror folding button on the driver's side door panel. Press this button to fold the rearview mirrors. BMW series rearview mirrors come with a heating function, which is very useful on rainy days. The heated electric rearview mirrors, i.e., the side mirrors on both windows, do not require manual angle adjustment. There are control buttons on the left side of the steering wheel to adjust the mirror angles. BMW's model series include the X Series, M Series, Z Series, 3 Series, 5 Series, and 7 Series. Among them, the BMW 5 Series has a body size of 4998mm in length, 1901mm in width, and 1559mm in height.
I recently helped a friend with his BMW mirror folding issue and now sharing the solution. Most BMW models support both manual and automatic folding. Manual folding is straightforward: stand outside the vehicle, press the mirror surface with your hand, then gently but firmly push it toward the car body until fully folded; avoid excessive force to prevent damaging the linkage. Automatic folding is smarter: inside the car, there's usually a small button with a folding symbol on the driver's door panel - hold it for a few seconds to retract the mirrors automatically; press again when unlocking to restore them. Many newer BMW models can even be set in the iDrive system to auto-fold mirrors when locked, making parking more convenient. I've avoided numerous scrapes using this method in driveways. Remember to regularly lubricate the folding mechanism to prevent winter freezing affecting operation. Generally, try the button first, resort to manual pushing if needed, and with proper maintenance it'll last for years.
