Car painting methods are as follows: 1. Remove oil stains and rust from the car body surface, and degrease plastic surfaces to keep the car clean; 2. Use zinc-based phosphating liquid to phosphating the car body surface, then rinse with clean water, wait for the car body to dry before painting; 3. Pay attention to air pressure and nozzle size during spraying, ensuring the car paint surface is even and smooth; 4. After painting, drive the car into a paint baking room to bake dry, allowing the paint to quickly solidify. Car paint maintenance methods include: 1. Wash the car after the engine has cooled down; 2. Reduce exposure to direct sunlight; 3. Clean stains on the car body promptly; 4. Rinse with clean water after rain to avoid acid rain corrosion; 5. Apply wax or glaze.
I just repainted my car, and the whole process was done step by step. First, the car body was cleaned, and the old paint and rust were sanded off; otherwise, the new paint would bubble. Then, masking paper was used to cover the tires and windows to prevent overspray. Next, primer was applied to level out any dents, and it had to dry completely before the color paint could be applied. The color paint needs to be sprayed evenly, keeping the spray gun about 30 to 40 centimeters away from the car body and moving it back and forth—too close and the paint might drip. After that, a layer of clear coat was added for protection, giving the surface a shiny finish. Finally, a polish was done to remove any dust spots. I did it myself using spray cans, which was quite labor-intensive but saved money. However, professional shops use paint booths, which are more convenient and yield a smoother result. If you really want to try it yourself, remember to wear a protective mask—the paint fumes are quite strong.
