Blue license plate trucks have a maximum tonnage not exceeding 4.5 tons. With a C1 driver's license: all blue license plate passenger and cargo vehicles fall within its permissible driving range. The C1 license only allows driving vehicles with a total mass not exceeding 4.5 tons, seating capacity (including the driver) not exceeding 9 people, or vehicles under 6 meters in length, all classified as small vehicles. Additionally, the C1 license permits driving vehicles under the C2 (small automatic transmission vehicles), C3 (low-speed cargo vehicles), and C4 (three-wheeled vehicles) categories. It's important to note that dual tires mounted together count as a single wheel. According to the 'People's Republic of China Motor Vehicle Registration Regulations': heavy and medium-duty trucks are issued large truck license plates, commonly known as yellow plates; light and mini trucks are issued small truck license plates, commonly known as blue plates. Depending on the color of the truck's license plate, the required driver's license class varies. Yellow plate trucks require a B2 license to drive, while blue plate trucks require a C1 license. Since the B2 license covers the C1 category, holders of a B2 license can drive both blue and yellow plate trucks.
