What is the matching method for the Passat B5 remote control?

Press the one-touch start button to turn off the vehicle, pull up the electronic handbrake, and shift the gear lever to the P (Park) neutral position. Then press the door lock button, and long-press the lock button on the remote control for more than 10 seconds to complete the matching.
I've been driving my Passat B5 for about seven or eight years, and matching the remote myself is definitely the most cost-effective way. First, make sure all doors are closed, leaving only the driver's door open. Then, hold down the unlock button on the remote without releasing it, insert the car key and turn it to the ON position to light up the dashboard. At this point, release the unlock button and immediately press it again. Finally, turn off the key and pull it out. If you hear a 'click' sound inside the car, it means the pairing was successful. The key to the operation is speed—turning the key must be done decisively. It's recommended to replace the battery beforehand, as old batteries with insufficient voltage can easily cause failure. After matching, remember to test the locking and unlocking functions immediately. Both keys can be matched this way. If there's no sound, just repeat the steps. The first time I tried, it didn't work, but it succeeded on the second attempt.
