What is the manual transmission classified as in the driving license categories?

Manual transmission is classified as C1. The C1 driving license is one of the driving license codes, permitting the operation of small and micro passenger vehicles, light and micro cargo vehicles, as well as light, small, and micro specialized operation vehicles. The C1 examination includes four subjects: traffic regulations and related knowledge, field driving, road driving, and safety and civilized driving common sense. Manual transmission, also known as manual gearbox (MT), requires the driver to manually shift the gear lever to change the gear meshing device inside the transmission, thereby altering the gear ratio to achieve speed variation. Manual transmission adjusts the driving torque by changing the transmission ratio (gear ratio) of the meshing gears through the shift fork, making it suitable for different working conditions.
When I was learning to drive, I chose the C1 manual transmission license mainly because it allows driving a wider variety of vehicle types. The C1 driver's license is suitable for both manual transmission cars and automatic transmission vehicles, and even some small trucks can be driven. Recently, while helping a friend practice driving, I noticed a common misconception: many people think manual transmission is exclusive to the C1 level, but in fact, the C1 license includes the qualification to drive manual transmission vehicles. However, I must remind those planning to learn for a C2 license: an automatic transmission license does not permit driving manual transmission cars, and this restriction should be considered carefully in advance.
