Kuachuo refers to Audi's all-wheel-drive system 'quattro', which is the Chinese pronunciation of the English term. Origin of Kuachuo: Audi's quattro technology originated in 1980, with the first model equipped with the quattro system also named quattro. The earliest first-generation quattro system featured an open center differential (manually lockable) + front open differential + rear open differential (manually lockable) structure. The first-generation quattro all-wheel-drive system had a differential installed at the rear of the transmission, driven through a hollow driveshaft, which transmitted power to the front differential. A driveshaft was also installed at the rear of the center differential to transfer engine power to the rear differential.
