What is the installation method for a motorcycle dual throttle cable?

It is necessary to remove the carburetor upper cover, extract the throttle valve return spring and throttle valve, then pass the throttle cable through the groove on the throttle valve and the spring. Fix the solder joint at the throttle cable head into the groove at the bottom of the throttle valve, and install the throttle valve into the carburetor at the correct angle. Otherwise, the throttle valve cannot reach the bottom. Then reinstall the carburetor upper cover.
As an experienced motorcyclist, I remember installing dual throttle cables in my garage when I was younger, and the whole process was quite interesting. First, you need to prepare new cables and tools like wrenches and screwdrivers, then turn off the motorcycle and disconnect the battery to prevent accidents. When removing the old cables, be careful not to damage the connectors on the handle or the throttle body. Installing the new cables is simpler—first connect one end of the throttle cable to the handle and the other end to the throttle on the carburetor or fuel injection system, ensuring both ends are securely fastened. The next step is crucial—adjusting the tension: too loose and the throttle response will be sluggish, too tight and it may jam. I had to repeatedly turn the wheel to ensure the free play was maintained at around 2 to 3 millimeters. When testing, always sit on the bike, twist the throttle a few times to check smoothness, and ensure the closing action is quick. After installation, don’t forget to lubricate the cables to reduce friction and regularly inspect them for wear. Once you get used to these tasks, they become convenient, but if you’re a beginner without experience, it’s best to seek help to avoid mistakes.
