What is the HOLD function in a car?

In automatic transmission vehicles, the full name of HOLD is AUTO-HOLD, which is a very practical automatic parking function. When waiting at a red light and needing to stop briefly, the vehicle will automatically brake the wheels after coming to a complete stop to prevent rolling. When parking on a slope, the system will automatically brake the wheels. Once the vehicle's power is sufficient—that is, when the driving force exceeds the rolling resistance—the wheels will be automatically released, allowing the vehicle to continue moving forward. After starting the car, press the HOLD button, and the HOLD indicator on the dashboard will light up, indicating that the automatic parking system is activated. During driving, when you need to stop, press the brake pedal until the vehicle comes to a halt. The HOLD indicator will light up on the screen, and you can release the brake pedal while the vehicle remains in the braking state. When you need to resume driving, simply tap the accelerator pedal lightly to release the braking function. This avoids the need to use the handbrake or electronic parking brake and simplifies the frequent shifting between D to N or D to P.
