The headlight model of the Lavida is H7. Lavida headlights: The SAIC Volkswagen Lavida comes standard with ordinary halogen dual-beam headlights, and the headlight bulb model is H7. Usually, the bulb cannot be replaced without removing other car parts first. Headlight installation: For self-installation, first remove the switch. The switch is easy to remove—press it down, twist it to the right, and then pull it up. Next, remove the fuse box cover panel. Extend the original car's plug connected to the switch from the side and connect it to one end of the module wiring harness. Then, apply a bit of 3M tape to the back of the main unit. Insert the white plug from the wiring harness and the light-sensitive wiring harness into the main unit. After that, insert the unit into the dashboard from the side and stick the main unit in the appropriate position.
When I first bought the Lavida, I was also curious about the headlight model. Later, I figured out that most of them use H7 halogen bulbs, especially the older models before 2015. Changing the bulb is quite convenient—just remove the lamp cover and rotate the buckle. No need to go through the hassle of checking the model; simply open the hood and look at the label or flip through the manual—that’s the simple method I often use to confirm. When replacing the bulb, wear gloves to avoid oil stains on the filament, which can cause it to break easily. Here’s a tip: if the light dims, don’t delay—check immediately, as it might be burnt out or the wiring might have aged, affecting nighttime visibility. Replacing it promptly can greatly improve driving safety, especially in rainy or foggy conditions. DIY saves money; you can find H7 bulbs on Taobao for just a few dozen yuan. But be aware that there might be slight variations across different years—for example, some newer models come with integrated LED lights, which are best handled by a professional shop for safety.
