Hanlong Kuangshi is a mid-to-large-sized SUV produced by Hanlong Auto, an independent brand under Hubei Daye Hanlong Automobile Co., Ltd. In terms of appearance, the overall silhouette of this vehicle bears a resemblance to the Range Rover. It features a large horizontal grille decoration, a hexagonal front fascia design, smooth side body lines, and chrome-decorated taillights paired with an inverted trapezoidal license plate area below. The dimensions of the Hanlong Kuangshi are 4985 mm in length, 1995 mm in width, and 1819 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2997 mm. The Hanlong Kuangshi is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, delivering a maximum power of 160 kW and a maximum torque of 370 Nm, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The Hanlong Kuangshi is a domestically produced mid-to-large SUV launched in late 2019, with a body length approaching 5 meters and a wheelbase of around 3 meters, making it a standard large-sized vehicle. It is equipped with a 2.0T turbocharged engine and an 8AT transmission, offering both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions. While it provides adequate performance for daily driving, it lacks strong explosive power. The exterior design does bear some resemblance to the Range Rover, particularly in the side profile lines and floating roof, giving it a quite imposing presence. The interior features extensive leather wrapping, standard panoramic sunroof and a large central control screen, with higher trims even including power-closing doors, effectively packing in features for its price range of around 200,000 yuan. The downsides include relatively high fuel consumption, averaging around 11L, and weaker brand recognition.

I once drove my friend's Hanlong Kuangshi, and the first impression was how spacious it is! There's plenty of room in the back seat to even cross your legs, and the trunk can easily fit two large suitcases. The 2.0T engine is sufficient for city driving, though it feels a bit sluggish when overtaking on the highway. The features are quite generous, with the panoramic camera and remote start being very handy, and the seat ventilation is a lifesaver in summer. However, the new car smell was quite strong, and the transmission occasionally jerks at low speeds. The brand is too niche, often mistaken for a modified when driven out. Now, you can get one in the used car market for around 70,000 to 80,000 yuan, which is half the price of a joint-venture SUV of the same size.

the Hanlong Kuangshi is mainly for its cost-effectiveness. With a five-meter body length and electric foot pedals, it's convenient for the elderly and children to get on and off, and it's spacious enough for family trips during the holidays. The base model, priced just over 150,000, comes with keyless entry and automatic air conditioning, which is more generous than joint-venture cars in the same price range. However, the actual fuel consumption is higher than the official data, often reaching 13 liters per 100 km in the city. There are few maintenance points, and even changing a wiper requires waiting for parts. The seat padding is on the harder side, making long drives of three hours uncomfortable for the back. The resale value drops quickly, losing half its value in just three years. It's recommended for family users who prioritize space to consider a used top-tier model, but they should check in advance if local maintenance is available.
