The minimum ground clearance of the new BMW X1 is 170mm. Currently, there are five models of the BMW X1 on sale, equipped with either a 1.5t or 2.0t turbocharged engine. The vehicle offers good off-road performance and can adapt to various road conditions. The definition and significance of a car's minimum ground clearance are as follows: Definition of minimum ground clearance: In the context of passenger vehicles, it refers to the height from the lowest point of the car's chassis to the ground when the car is fully loaded and stationary on a horizontal surface. It indicates the vehicle's ability to pass over obstacles such as rocks and tree stumps without collision. Significance of minimum ground clearance: Sedans typically navigate flat urban roads, hence they have smaller ground clearance. Off-road vehicles have larger minimum ground clearance to overcome larger obstacles. A larger minimum ground clearance enhances the vehicle's ability to pass over obstacles or uneven terrain but raises the center of gravity, reducing stability. Conversely, a smaller minimum ground clearance decreases the vehicle's ability to navigate obstacles or rough terrain but lowers the center of gravity, improving stability.

As a new BMW X1 owner, I find the 200mm ground clearance extremely practical for daily driving – it handles curbs in the city without worrying about scraping the undercarriage, and maintains excellent stability during high-speed cornering. The trunk height is just right for frequently loading/unloading camping gear. It navigates through rain, snow, and flooded roads effortlessly without ever getting stuck. Fuel efficiency remains unaffected, delivering good economy. This design perfectly balances handling and off-road capability, making it ideal for daily commuters like me. It even handles occasional rough roads adequately. While hardcore off-road enthusiasts might opt for higher clearance, the new X1's parameters are exceptionally well-considered among urban SUVs.

What is the principle of steering wheel operation when reversing?

When reversing, if you turn the steering wheel to the left, the rear of the car will move to the left; if you turn the steering wheel to the right, the rear of the car will move to the right. When the rear of the car deviates to one side, the steering wheel should be turned in the opposite direction; when the car body is leaning to the left, you need to turn the steering wheel to the right to straighten it.

Do new vehicles still need to display annual inspection stickers?

New vehicles no longer require the display of physical inspection stickers, as the electronic version of the motor vehicle inspection certificate has been implemented nationwide. After completing new vehicle registration or inspection procedures, owners can directly apply for the electronic inspection certificate through the "Traffic Management 12123" mobile app. The electronic inspection certificate holds the same validity as the paper version. Important note: Clear all traffic violation records before the annual inspection. Some vehicle owners fail to address traffic violation notices promptly, and these unresolved violations will be accounted for during the annual inspection. If the vehicle management office detects any outstanding violation records, the vehicle will not pass the annual inspection.
