What is the green leaf on the Civic for?

The green leaf on the Civic is the Eco Mode switch. Speed: When the vehicle speed exceeds 120 km/h, priority is given to speed, and the Eco Mode automatically deactivates. In other words, if the speed significantly exceeds the economical speed range (typically between 60-90 km/h), the ECO mode cannot effectively save fuel. Computer Control: The ECO mode primarily functions through computer control while the vehicle is in motion. Therefore, it does not work during idle stops, when in N or P gear, or in manual mode. Climbing or Overtaking: When overcoming resistance requires high torque output, such as during hill climbing or overtaking, the ECU prioritizes providing sufficient power to drive the vehicle, and the ECO mode will not operate.
