What is the general fuel tank capacity of a car in liters?

Generally, the fuel tank capacity of small cars is 35-45 liters, while that of medium-sized cars is 55-75 liters. A full tank can usually allow the car to travel about 500 kilometers. Depending on the engine displacement of the car, a higher fuel consumption corresponds to a larger fuel tank, and vice versa. During the actual refueling process, the amount of fuel may exceed the marked capacity. This is because the fuel tank capacity marked by car manufacturers is measured from the bottom of the tank to the safe level. There is still some space from the safe level to the tank opening, which is reserved to allow for fuel expansion when the temperature rises, preventing overflow. If fuel is filled up to the tank opening during refueling, the actual amount of fuel added may exceed the marked tank capacity. To check the remaining fuel in the tank, the driver can observe the fuel gauge on the right side of the dashboard, which is marked with E and F. When the pointer is close to E, it indicates that the fuel is almost empty, while nearing F means the fuel level is sufficient.
