The S gear is used for climbing slopes and rapid overtaking. The S gear on a car represents the sports mode of the vehicle. In sports mode, the car's performance in all aspects is enhanced, and the acceleration performance becomes stronger. Sports mode is often used for overtaking and uphill driving. After activating sports mode, the car's gear will drop rapidly, with a certain delay in shifting, allowing the engine to maintain high RPMs for an extended period. The downside of sports mode is that it increases fuel consumption and reduces comfort during rapid acceleration, primarily because the vehicle's suspension becomes stiffer in S gear, which is caused by decreased brake sensitivity. It is not recommended to use S gear when the car is coasting, as it can damage the transmission in a short time.

After buying my car, I was curious about what the S mode does. After trying it myself, I found it quite useful. Normally, I drive in D mode for fuel efficiency and smoothness, but when I shift to S mode, the car feels alive—the engine sound becomes louder, and the throttle response is much quicker. Once, while driving on a mountain road with lots of curves, switching to S mode made things much easier—stepping on the gas instantly brought power without any lag in acceleration. It also made overtaking on highways safer by reducing hesitation. However, this does increase fuel consumption—I remember using an extra liter or two that time—so now I only use it when I need extra power, sticking to D mode otherwise. Don’t overlook this feature, especially if you’re a young car enthusiast—it can add a bit of fun occasionally.

What are the differences between Nissan Sunny and Sylphy?

Nissan Sunny and Sylphy differ in the following aspects: 1. Exterior design: The Sunny features a three-tier horizontal grille design with smoother and more flowing overall lines; The Sylphy has a longer body, presenting a more sophisticated appearance. 2. Brand lettering: The Sylphy bears the 'SYLPHY' badge while the Sunny is marked as 'SUNNY'. The Sylphy is a compact sedan produced by Dongfeng Nissan, equipped with MacPherson strut front suspension and torsion beam rear suspension. Its dimensions are 4631mm in length, 1760mm in width, and 1503mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2700mm. Power comes from a 1.6L naturally aspirated engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Why is the engine coolant temperature too low?

Engine coolant temperature may be too low due to the following reasons: a faulty thermostat or a constantly running cooling fan. The thermostat controls the engine coolant temperature. If the thermostat malfunctions and the valve fails to close, the coolant will continuously circulate in the large loop, potentially causing the engine temperature to drop excessively. Some vehicles have their thermostats removed during summer to lower high coolant temperatures, which can also result in abnormally low engine temperatures. Additionally, for electric fans, circuit malfunctions may cause continuous operation; for silicone oil fans, a damaged silicone oil clutch can lead to the fan running constantly. These issues can all contribute to low coolant temperature.

How Long Can Antifreeze Be Stored?

Antifreeze can generally be stored for two years. Currently, antifreeze is an aqueous solution of ethylene glycol, which is not prone to evaporation. Therefore, as long as there is no leakage and it's just a matter of low antifreeze levels, you can top it up with distilled water—never use tap water. Antifreeze also contains various additives, so antifreeze from different manufacturers should not be mixed. The full name of antifreeze should be antifreeze coolant, meaning a coolant with antifreeze properties. It prevents the coolant from freezing in cold winter conditions, which could otherwise cause the radiator to crack or damage the engine cylinder block or head. Antifreeze is a type of coolant with special additives, primarily used in liquid-cooled engine cooling systems. It offers excellent performance in preventing freezing in winter, boiling in summer, and protecting against scale and corrosion throughout the year.

How to Soundproof a Noisy Car?

Excessive car noise is generally addressed by installing soundproofing materials, which block external noise from directly transmitting or resonating into the cabin, thereby achieving effective sound insulation. Therefore, car soundproofing involves using soundproof materials to isolate noise, acoustic materials to absorb noise, and vibration damping panels to reduce metal sheet vibrations and minimize noise. Applying sound-absorbing cotton to the engine hood provides sound insulation, heat insulation, reduces engine noise, lowers hood temperature, and protects the paint surface. Firewall soundproofing prevents engine noise from entering the cabin, while chassis soundproofing and vibration damping reduce friction noise between tires and the road, as well as resonance noise. The roof, trunk, rear lid wheel arches, and other areas should also undergo soundproofing treatment, combining vibration damping with soundproofing cotton.

Which manufacturer produces the transmission for the Vision X6?

Vision X6 transmission brand is Aisin. How the transmission works: The transmission is essentially a gearbox containing multiple gears. The driving gear (connected to the engine via the clutch) receives power from the engine to drive the driven gear (connected to the wheels through the final drive and drive shaft), thereby propelling wheel rotation. Each gear position corresponds to a pair of driving gears - engaging a specific gear means that particular gear pair combines to transmit power. Automotive transmission overview: Transmissions are categorized into manual and automatic types. Manual transmissions primarily consist of gears and shafts, achieving speed and torque variation through different gear combinations. Automatic transmissions (AT) comprise torque converters, planetary gearsets, and hydraulic control systems, accomplishing speed and torque changes via hydraulic power transmission and gear combinations.

Where is the Wuling Xingchen CVT produced?

Wuling Xingchen CVT is produced by SAIC-GM. Introduction to CVT: CVT refers to a type of automotive transmission, also known as a continuously variable transmission. The difference between CVT and stepped transmissions is that its gear ratio is not a discrete point but a series of continuous values, thereby achieving good fuel economy, power performance, and smooth driving, while also reducing emissions and costs. CVT Working Principle: In a CVT transmission system, traditional gears are replaced by a pair of pulleys and a steel belt. Each pulley is actually a V-shaped structure composed of two conical discs. The engine shaft is connected to the small pulley, which drives the large pulley through the steel belt.
