What is the fuel tank capacity of the Explorer in liters?

The Explorer currently has 10 models on sale, with a fuel tank capacity of 73 liters. The vehicle is equipped with a 2.3-liter turbocharged engine, and all models feature a 10-speed automatic transmission (AT). All models adopt a front-engine four-wheel-drive configuration. Among vehicles in the same class, the BMW X1 2022 model has a fuel tank capacity of 61 liters, the Touareg 2021 model has a 70-liter tank, and the Territory 2021 model comes with a 74-liter fuel tank. During actual refueling, the amount of fuel may exceed the calibrated capacity. This is because the fuel tank capacity marked by automobile manufacturers is measured from the bottom of the tank to the safe fill level, with additional space remaining from the safe fill level to the tank opening. This extra space ensures that the fuel can expand when temperatures rise without overflowing the tank. If fuel is filled up to the tank opening during refueling, the actual amount of fuel added may exceed the marked tank capacity. To check the remaining fuel level, owners can observe the fuel gauge on the right side of the instrument panel, marked with E and F. When the needle approaches E, it indicates that the fuel is almost empty, while nearing F means the fuel level is sufficient.
