Last year, I rode my Zongshen RX3 on a trip along the Sichuan-Tibet line, and the fuel consumption of this bike is quite noteworthy. In normal city riding, it averages about 3.8 to 4.2 liters per 100 kilometers, while on long-distance rides, it can drop to around 3.5 liters. However, once when I had three boxes of luggage strapped to the bike while crossing Zheduo Mountain, the displayed fuel consumption shot up to 4.5 liters. The single-cylinder water-cooled engine of this bike is quite durable, but if you twist the throttle too aggressively, the fuel consumption immediately increases. I recommend using 92-octane fuel; 95-octane won’t save you any more fuel. Tire pressure is also important—I once rode with low rear tire pressure for half a month and wasted half a tank of fuel unnecessarily. If you modify the bike with cases or add crash guards, the increased wind resistance will also raise fuel consumption by about 0.2 liters.

Can motorcycle engine oils be mixed?

No, different brands of oils use different additives, and mixing them may cause the oil to deteriorate. The related explanations are as follows: 1. Brief introduction: Mixing will affect the lubrication effect of the engine and may also clog the internal oil passages, impacting engine performance. 2. Differences: The differences between motorcycle engine oil and car engine oil are: durability, heat dissipation, and lubrication effect. Motorcycle engine oil is specifically designed to withstand high temperatures because motorcycle engines generate more heat. Additionally, since motorcycle engines generally operate at higher RPMs, durability is a strong point of motorcycle oil. In contrast, car engines produce less heat compared to motorcycle engines, so the durability of car engine oil is inferior to that of motorcycle oil.
