The combined fuel consumption of the Golf GTI is 5.3-6.7L/100km. Currently, there are 7 models of the Golf GTI available for sale. The 200TSI-DSG-Pro and DSG models have a combined fuel consumption of 5.3L/100km. The 280TSI-DSG-R-Line, DSG-Pro First Edition, DSG 30th Anniversary Edition, and DSG-Pro models have a combined fuel consumption of 5.5L/100km. The 380TSI-DSG-GTI has a combined fuel consumption of 6.7L/100km. The above figures are the NEDC combined fuel consumption, which is the data measured under the NEDC test cycle. The actual fuel consumption is higher than these values, ranging from 5.5-12.6L/100km. Methods to reduce fuel consumption: Clean engine carbon deposits: Excessive carbon deposits in the engine are a significant cause, mainly due to the use of unsuitable fuel. It is recommended to add a certain amount of cleaning agent when refueling. If the effect is not noticeable, it indicates a significant amount of carbon deposits in the engine. In such cases, the car must be taken to a 4S shop for professional cleaning of the engine carbon deposits by technicians. Check the oxygen sensor: As an internal control unit of the car, the oxygen sensor primarily monitors the fuel-air ratio in the engine. Once damaged, it can cause an imbalance in the fuel-air ratio, leading to a sudden increase in fuel consumption. If the oxygen sensor is damaged, the exhaust pipe will emit darker-colored exhaust gases during driving, and the sensor should be replaced immediately. Regularly replace the three filters: During vehicle use, the oil filter, air filter, and fuel filter must be replaced regularly. If not replaced for a long time, they can become dirty and send incorrect information to the engine control unit, resulting in incomplete fuel combustion and increased engine carbon deposits. Check the electronic control unit: Although the engine's electronic control unit is highly reliable, in older vehicles, various faults may inevitably occur.

I've been driving a Golf GTI for almost two years, mainly for daily commuting. The official fuel consumption is just over 7 liters per 100 kilometers, but in reality, I typically get 9 to 11 liters in city driving. On the highway from Shanghai to Suzhou with cruise control, the displayed consumption can drop to 7.5 liters, but as soon as I get stuck on the Yan'an Elevated Road, the fuel consumption quickly jumps above 10 liters. Running the air conditioning in summer is the most fuel-intensive—last month during the continuous 35°C heatwave, with the AC on full blast and traffic jams, it directly hit 13 liters. There's no denying the strong burst of power from the 2.0T engine, but the fuel consumption before the turbo kicks in is really not friendly, especially when flooring it from a red light—seeing the instantaneous fuel consumption gauge spike to over 20 liters has become routine. As for fuel-saving tips, I find that using the S mode less, turning off the auto start-stop, and anticipating road conditions to brake less are the most effective.

How Much Fuel Does Using Air Conditioning Consume?

Vehicle air conditioning typically accounts for about 20% of the engine's power output, so using AC will inevitably increase fuel consumption. Generally, it consumes approximately 1-2 liters of fuel per hour. This may vary slightly depending on the vehicle model and driving speed. Specific recommendations are as follows: Start with external circulation: Upon entering the vehicle, first activate the AC's external circulation mode, then open doors or windows for ventilation. Switch to internal circulation only after the cabin temperature has dropped. This method prevents additional engine load during idling while effectively cooling the interior and reducing fuel consumption. Adjust vent direction: Always position AC vents upward since cold air naturally sinks. This allows the descending cool air to efficiently lower the cabin's ambient temperature. Early shutdown: Approximately 1.5 kilometers before reaching your destination, turn off the AC and switch to external circulation mode. Utilize remaining cool air and natural airflow to maintain cabin comfort, which further optimizes fuel efficiency.

Where to Check the Standard Tire Pressure for Car Tires?

You can find the standard tire pressure for car tires in the vehicle's user manual, on the label near the B-pillar in the driver's cabin, in the drawer next to the driver's seat, or on the small door of the fuel tank cap. The tire pressure is usually based on the manufacturer's recommended value. Typically, run-flat tires and regular tires have a normal pressure range between 2.2 and 2.5 bar. However, the manufacturer's recommended tire pressure can only serve as a reference, as the actual pressure may vary due to various factors. Tires are circular elastic rubber products mounted on vehicles or machinery, usually installed on metal rims. They support the vehicle body, absorb external shocks, ensure contact with the road surface, and maintain the vehicle's driving performance.

Can I use an old ID card for the Subject 3 driving test?

An expired ID card cannot be used for the Subject 3 driving test. Before the Subject 3 test, the examinee's ID card will be verified, and neither an expired ID card nor a residence permit can be used. Therefore, if your new ID card hasn't arrived before the Subject 3 test, quickly go to your registered residence location to apply for a temporary ID card, which has the same legal effect. Here is additional information about ID card regulations: Replacement of a new card: Citizens should replace their ID cards when the state decides to issue a new generation of resident ID cards, when the resident ID card expires, when the citizen's name changes, or when the card is severely damaged and unreadable. Registration items: If there are errors in the registration items of the resident ID card, the public security authority should promptly correct them and issue a new card. Application for a replacement: If the resident ID card is lost, an application for a replacement should be made.

Is Replacing a Water Pump Considered a Major Overhaul?

Replacing a water pump is not considered a major overhaul. A major overhaul in automotive terms refers to completely disassembling the engine and replacing components such as cylinder liners, piston rings, and the timing system. From this, it's clear that merely replacing a water pump does not qualify as a major overhaul. The water pump is just a single component located near the engine's timing system and does not require complete engine disassembly, so it doesn't count as an engine overhaul. Moreover, water pumps tend to fail before the engine does, so timely replacement is essential. Symptoms of a faulty water pump: 1. Reduced Cooling Circulation: A damaged water pump can weaken or even stop the cooling circulation, leading to coolant boiling. 2. Leakage Near the Pump: Leaks may occur near the water pump area of the engine. Coolant leakage can leave traces around the pump's vent holes, resulting in symptoms like high engine temperature due to insufficient coolant. 3. Unusual Noises: Abnormal noises from the water pump while the engine is running. These noises may be caused by internal debris or worn bearings.

When Should Spark Plugs Be Replaced?

Spark plugs should be replaced under the following circumstances: 1. Engine idling becomes rough; 2. Vehicle experiences poor acceleration with increased fuel consumption; 3. Difficulty in starting the engine; 4. Engine vibration when air conditioning is turned on. A spark plug mainly consists of a terminal nut, insulator, terminal stud, center electrode, side electrode, and metal shell, with the side electrode welded onto the shell. The function of a spark plug is to discharge high-voltage pulses delivered through the ignition wire, creating an electric spark by ionizing the air gap between its electrodes to ignite the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber. Under high voltage, the air between the center electrode and side electrode rapidly ionizes, forming positively charged ions and negatively charged free electrons.
