Emgrand GL's MIIT comprehensive fuel consumption is 5.9L/100km. Fuel consumption calculation method: Fill up the car's gasoline tank completely and reset the odometer to zero. After driving for a period of time, refill the tank and note the amount of gasoline added. Divide the amount of gasoline by the distance traveled to obtain the fuel consumption per kilometer. Introduction to vehicle fuel consumption: Fuel consumption, commonly referred to as the amount of gasoline consumed by a car after traveling 100 kilometers, typically refers to constant-speed fuel consumption. Constant-speed fuel consumption (Constant-Speed Fuel Economy) is an indicator of a vehicle's fuel efficiency when driving at a constant speed on good road conditions. Since constant-speed driving is a fundamental operating condition for vehicles on highways and is easy to measure, it is widely adopted. However, because actual driving often involves acceleration, deceleration, braking, and engine idling, constant-speed fuel consumption tends to be lower and may differ significantly from real-world fuel consumption.

My own Emgrand GL is the 1.5T automatic transmission version. After driving it for over two years, the fuel consumption during urban peak hours generally fluctuates between 8.5-9.2 liters. The frequent switching between throttle and brake during morning and evening traffic jams consumes more fuel. On weekends when driving on highways, the fuel consumption drops significantly. When maintaining a cruise speed of 100 km/h, the dashboard shows a consumption of around 6.3-6.8 liters. In summer, with the air conditioning on full blast, the fuel consumption increases by about 0.5 liters. In winter, when the tire pressure was insufficient, the highest consumption I recorded was 10 liters. Overall, the fuel consumption of this car is fairly average. My monthly commuting fuel cost is around 800 yuan, which is neither particularly fuel-efficient nor excessively thirsty among compact cars.

Why is there no fee deduction displayed after passing through the highway with ETC?

The reason why there is no fee deduction displayed after passing through the highway with ETC is: the deduction is not in real-time, and most of the time it is delayed for a few days before being processed. ETC works through dedicated short-range communication between the onboard electronic tag installed on the vehicle's windshield and the microwave antenna in the ETC lane at the toll station. It uses computer networking technology to perform backend settlement processing with the bank, achieving the purpose of vehicles passing through highway or bridge toll stations without stopping to pay the fees. The reasons why ETC may not be detected include: 1. The electronic tag is not inserted correctly; 2. Unauthorized removal of the onboard electronic tag will render it unusable; 3. The vehicle's windshield has a metal explosion-proof film; 4. OBU transfer or replacement requires visiting a service center.

Why Does the Engine Speed Increase Automatically in Neutral Gear?

There are two main reasons for a sudden increase in engine speed when the vehicle is in neutral: a faulty carbon canister solenoid valve causing the engine speed to rise suddenly in neutral, and a malfunctioning vacuum sensor in the braking system leading to the same issue. Here is a detailed analysis: 1. Cause of carbon canister solenoid valve failure: When the vehicle is shifted into neutral, the engine should return to idle speed, and the carbon canister solenoid valve should close. If the solenoid valve fails to close or does not seal properly, gasoline vapors from the carbon canister will continuously flow into the intake manifold and then enter the combustion chamber, causing a sudden increase in engine speed in neutral. 2. Cause of vacuum sensor failure in the braking system: If the vacuum sensor malfunctions, it cannot detect whether the vacuum level in the power assist system is sufficient. In this case, the engine will increase its speed to enhance the intake vacuum, thereby raising the vacuum level in the intake manifold.
