After two rounds of comprehensive testing covering over 200 kilometers each in various road conditions including city driving, ring roads, and highways, the actual measured fuel consumption of the 4th generation Emgrand is approximately 6.8 liters per 100 kilometers. Compared to the officially announced fuel consumption level of 6.5 liters per 100 kilometers, the actual measured 6.8 liters is still a good performance. Factors affecting fuel consumption are as follows: Potholes on the road increase fuel consumption: Poor road conditions or uneven surfaces force the vehicle to drive in low gears for extended periods, inevitably increasing fuel consumption; Using the trunk as storage increases fuel consumption: Treating the trunk as a warehouse and stuffing it with all sorts of items, useful or not, increases the vehicle's weight. It's important to note that vehicle weight is directly proportional to fuel consumption. For every 10% reduction in vehicle weight, fuel consumption decreases by several percentage points. Incorrect driving habits can double or triple fuel consumption: Improper driving habits have the greatest impact on fuel consumption. During driving, especially in heavy traffic, at red lights, or when changing lanes, sudden acceleration and hard braking are the most common issues.

I've been driving the 4th-generation Emgrand for almost a year now. My daily urban commute fuel consumption fluctuates around 7.8L/100km, rising to 9L in heavy traffic, but drops to 6.3L on highway drives during weekends. It was slightly higher during the break-in period but improved noticeably after the first maintenance. This car is quite suitable for family commuting - the 45L fuel tank provides over 500km range when full. I recommend avoiding aggressive throttle starts and maintaining 60-80km/h for optimal fuel efficiency. Note that AC usage adds about 0.5L consumption, while winter heating has less impact. With current fuel prices being so high, I always monitor the odometer during refueling - it feels quite economical.

From a technical perspective, this generation of Emgrand is equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine paired with a CVT transmission. The official combined fuel consumption is 6.2L/100km (NEDC standard). Based on my research, actual fuel consumption tends to be about 10% higher than the standard due to more ideal testing conditions compared to daily driving. The body features lightweight design with a drag coefficient reduced to 0.27, and the front grille has active closing functionality - both contributing to fuel efficiency. The newly adopted direct fuel injection technology last year is more efficient than the previous multi-point fuel injection system, though regular carbon deposit cleaning is required. Overall, its fuel consumption performance stands out among domestic vehicles in its class.

My colleague's Changan Eado consumes 8L/100km in the city, while my friend's Nissan Sylphy Classic uses about 7.5L. My Geely Emgrand averages around 7.3L/100km for daily commuting. Among cars in the same class, the BYD Qin PLUS DM-i probably has the lowest fuel consumption, but the plug-in hybrid version costs tens of thousands more. A Didi driver friend mentioned his car shows 7.8L/100km while driving around the city, which is half a liter less than the previous generation Emgrand. On highways, I've achieved 5.9L/100km, slightly higher than the Corolla by 0.4L but over 30,000 yuan cheaper. In summary, the fuel consumption is decent, making it suitable for budget-conscious buyers who also consider long-term ownership costs. The value proposition is quite competitive among gasoline-powered cars.
