What is the fault when the EPC light is on?

EPC indicator light usually turns on for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on and the vehicle starts self-checking, then it will go off. If the light does not go off after the vehicle is started, it indicates a fault in the vehicle's mechanical and electronic systems. You can drive a short distance, but it is recommended to go to the nearest repair shop for inspection as soon as possible. The main reasons for the EPC warning light to come on are as follows: 1. Fault in the engine management system or electronic control: Often accompanied by unstable idle speed or cold start shaking of the engine. However, for domestic car owners, it is generally caused by the quality of domestic fuel and dirty driving environment. It is recommended to drive to the repair service station for inspection as soon as possible. In most cases, cleaning the throttle body can solve the problem. 2. The EPC indicator light will come on when the ignition switch is turned on for function check: If this indicator light comes on while driving, it means there is a fault in the engine power electronic control system. The engine must be checked immediately. Generally, a dirty throttle valve body, vacuum leakage in the intake system, damaged brake switch, or untimely engine upgrade may cause EPC faults. 3. There are two possibilities when the EPC light is on: One is that the throttle is too dirty and should be cleaned. The other is that the brake light is not working, and the bulb should be replaced or the brake switch and circuit should be checked. Also, due to fuel quality issues, the EPC warning light may also come on.
Last time my car's EPC light suddenly turned yellow, scaring me into pulling over to check the manual. This light usually indicates an issue with the electronic throttle system, most commonly a faulty brake light switch contact. Don't doubt it – that little switch under your foot can often be fixed by spending 80 yuan on a replacement. Other possibilities include throttle body sludge buildup causing sticking, or abnormal signals from the accelerator pedal sensor. If your steering wheel shakes at highway speeds, it might be a failed camshaft position sensor. The easiest fix is trying to restart the engine, but if the light keeps coming back, you'll need a repair shop to read the fault codes. Guessing blindly might ruin your catalytic converter.
