Escort refers to the Ford Escort, a new benchmark in the mid-size family sedan segment. Its body dimensions are 4587mm in length, 1825mm in width, and 1490mm in height. In terms of exterior design, it features swallow-shaped headlights, newly designed LED daytime running lights paired with sharp-looking xenon headlights, effectively enhancing vehicle recognition and ensuring driving safety. The Escort has a maximum power output of 90kW and a maximum torque of 152Nm, with a wheelbase of 2687mm. It is powered by a 1.5L Ti-VCT engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, delivering ample power.
The Ford Escort is quite an interesting model series. I first came across it in an automotive magazine. Back in the 1960s and 70s, the original Escort hatchback launched by Ford UK instantly became a national icon, with the two-door MK1 version seen everywhere. The most legendary versions were those in rally racing, like the Escort RS1600 – its blue racing livery with gold wheels remains a fan favorite even today, with enthusiasts still recreating that look. The situation was different in China, where Changan Ford introduced a locally produced sedan version in 2016, positioned below the Focus. It came with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. Unfortunately, its lifecycle was short-lived, being discontinued after just 3 years. Nowadays, you might occasionally spot low-mileage, nearly new examples in the used car market.
