The engine model of the Vision is JL4G15D, which is a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine. This 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine has a maximum power of 80 kW, a maximum torque of 142 Nm, a maximum power speed of 6000 rpm, and a maximum torque speed of 4400 rpm. The engine is equipped with DVVT technology and uses an aluminum alloy cylinder head and block. The Geely Vision refers to Geely's first mid-level business and family sedan, with dimensions of 4599mm in length, 1747mm in width, and 1482mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2615mm. The front and rear suspensions are MacPherson independent suspension and torsion beam semi-independent suspension, respectively.

I used to drive the older Geely Yuanjing, which was equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, model named JLγ-4G15. This engine was quite fuel-efficient, averaging around 7 liters per 100 km in city driving, though it felt a bit sluggish during acceleration. Later, the newer models switched to a turbocharged 1.4T engine, model changed to JLB-4G14TB, which offered noticeably stronger power. Geely has been consistently upgrading its engines, so different model years may use different engine types. If buying a used one, I recommend checking the VIN or directly looking at the nameplate in the engine compartment, which clearly states the details. For family use, I think the 1.5L version is sufficient and cheaper to maintain.

Having worked in auto repair for over a decade, I've come across many Yuanjing models. Its engine has indeed undergone several changes. In earlier years, it used the reliable 4G15 engine (the one with the γ symbol). This engine is durable and easy to maintain – replacing spark plugs costs just a few dozen yuan. Later, Geely equipped it with the 4G15D featuring DVVT technology, which improved intake efficiency slightly. The current new models use a turbocharged engine, model 4G14TB (with the T designation). If you can't remember your car's engine model, here's a tip: open the hood and check the metal plate near the firewall – you'll definitely find it there. Maintenance intervals vary by model: naturally aspirated engines can go 8,000 km between oil changes, while turbocharged ones are best serviced every 5,000 km.

The engine models of the Geely Vision have varied significantly over the years. The first generation used the Shenyang Mitsubishi 4G15 series, later replaced by Geely's self-developed 1.5L JLC-series engines. The 2018 facelift was particularly crucial, introducing the JLγ-4G15DVVT engine with upgraded intake technology. Most current models on the road are turbocharged JLB-4G14TB versions, with maximum torque increased to 235 Nm. A little-known fact: manual and automatic transmissions have slightly different tuning. When choosing, prioritize DVVT-equipped versions for noticeably better fuel efficiency.
