What is the ECO Driving Mode?

ECO is an economical driving mode that primarily involves a comprehensive analysis and judgment of factors such as automatic transmission gear position, engine speed, vehicle speed, braking, and transmission oil temperature during vehicle operation. The ECU control unit calculates the optimal fuel quantity to be supplied to the engine to reduce gasoline consumption. Vehicle ECO can be categorized into: 1. Active ECO Driving Mode: Equipped with a dedicated button, allowing the driver to choose whether to activate it. Once activated, a series of driving settings will be adjusted accordingly; 2. Passive ECO Driving Mode: Lacks a dedicated button and serves only as a reminder or guidance function.
ECO mode is the fuel-saving function in my car. After turning it on, driving becomes gentler, helping me save a lot on gasoline. During my daily commute, when traffic is always congested, pressing the ECO button automatically adjusts the throttle response and gear-shifting strategy, preventing the engine from running too aggressively. The acceleration becomes smoother, making it feel safer and more comfortable. It also reduces the air conditioning power, making the airflow less harsh while maintaining the temperature. The benefits are obvious: fuel consumption drops by about 10%, especially in city driving, saving hundreds of dollars a year. It's also more environmentally friendly, reducing exhaust emissions. The downside is slightly weaker power, requiring a bit more throttle when overtaking. I recommend using it more often in congested areas. Once you get used to it, driving becomes more effortless and worry-free, and it can even extend the engine's lifespan.
