e56 is the domestic Volvo Asia Pacific S90 long-wheelbase version. The domestic Volvo long-wheelbase version is divided into the T4 version and the T5 version, while the T6 AWD version is the imported standard-wheelbase version. The Volvo S90 is also equipped with a PAP automatic parking system and a 360-degree panoramic camera, supporting automatic horizontal and vertical parking and automatic exiting. The parking space only needs to be 1.2 times the length of the car body to be locked. The front grille adopts a vertical bar design, and all models come standard with Thor's Hammer LED headlights. The new car's center console is equipped with a large-size LCD display, and all models come standard with the Volvo SENSUS Connect intelligent car system that supports Apple CarPlay connectivity.
I've driven quite a few classic cars. The term E56 might be a minor misunderstanding – people usually refer to the E60 as BMW's fifth-generation 5 Series sedan, produced from around 2003 to 2010. Its design was quite avant-garde, with the rear curve jokingly called the "Bangle Butt" by fans – controversial at first but later became iconic. It offered multiple powertrain options; for instance, the 530i's 3.0L inline-six engine was smooth, delivering precise handling at high speeds with direct steering feedback, making it feel more mechanically engaging than many modern cars. It was comfortable for daily commutes, with spacious rear seats ideal for road trips with friends, though the interior had a somewhat plasticky feel, and the iDrive system occasionally lagged. Maintenance costs were reasonable (an oil change cost about 200 RMB), but aging electronic modules led to higher failure rates – regular wiring checks are recommended to prolong its lifespan. Overall, it’s a practical yet characterful model.
