Vehicle inspection exemption period is six years, meeting the following conditions to enjoy the 6-year exemption: 1. Eligible vehicle types: ① Non-operational passenger cars (including large passenger cars); ② Non-operational small and mini passenger vehicles (excluding vans and vehicles with 7 seats or more). 2. Exemption conditions: ① Vehicles registered on or after September 1, 2010 can enjoy the 6-year inspection exemption policy. Vehicles registered outside this period can enjoy the 6-year exemption policy, while vehicles registered before this date will follow the original inspection regulations; ② The vehicle has not been involved in any injury accidents.
When I first bought my new car, I also researched the exemption from inspection. Non-commercial passenger vehicles are exempt from on-site inspections for the first 6 years, but remember to apply for the inspection label on the Traffic Management 12123 APP in the 2nd and 4th years—completely hassle-free. The first on-site inspection is only required in the 6th year. If the vehicle is well-maintained, from 6 to 10 years, you only need to apply for the exemption label every two years, which can be done entirely on your phone. This is much more convenient than the old policy, saving both time and fuel costs. However, note that vans, vehicles involved in fatal accidents, or modified vehicles are not eligible for this benefit. Additionally, vehicles over 10 years old must undergo annual on-site inspections. Regular checks on lights and tires can give you extra peace of mind.
