The differences between the Land Cruiser and Land Cruiser Prado are in their body dimensions: The Land Cruiser measures 5170mm in length, 1970mm in width, and 1945mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2850mm; the Land Cruiser Prado measures 5095mm in length, 1975mm in width, and 1930mm in height, also with a wheelbase of 2850mm. In terms of power, the Land Cruiser is equipped with a 3.5L V6 twin-turbocharged engine, delivering a maximum horsepower of 421ps and a maximum torque of 600nm. Regarding features, the Land Cruiser comes with a cruise driving assist system, KDSS kinetic dynamic suspension system, HAC hill-start assist control system, among others.
Actually, these two brothers are both Toyota's rugged off-road vehicles, but the differences are quite noticeable. When I changed cars two years ago, I specifically compared them. The Land Cruiser is a full size larger, with a length of nearly 5 meters, driving like a mobile fortress. It's equipped with either a 4.6L or 5.7L powerhouse, extremely stable even on gravel deserts, featuring a ladder frame chassis that makes towing a caravan effortless. The Prado, on the other hand, is much more compact, about 4.8 meters in length, mostly fitted with a 2.7L or 4.0L engine, making parking in the city much easier. Although both have full-time four-wheel drive, the Prado's ground clearance is a few centimeters lower than the Land Cruiser's, and you can feel the difference when tackling cross-axle obstacles. Inside, the Land Cruiser's second row can slide forward and backward, and the third row is more spacious than the Prado's. Price-wise, a new Land Cruiser costs about 200,000 yuan more, with an even bigger gap in the used car market. As an office worker, I ultimately chose the Prado—it's sufficient and doesn't break the bank.
