What is the Difference Between the Green License Plates 'D' and 'F' for New Energy Electric Vehicles?
1 Answers
To better distinguish and identify new energy vehicles and implement differentiated traffic management, relevant departments in China have formulated and introduced special license plates for new energy vehicles, commonly known as green plates, symbolizing green, environmentally friendly, and technological concepts. Vehicles with the letter 'D' on their plates represent pure electric vehicles, which require full charging to operate. On the other hand, vehicles marked with the letter 'F' are hybrid models that can be either charged or powered by gasoline. This design aims to prevent inconvenience for drivers when their vehicles run out of electricity. Hybrid vehicles are generally unaffected by battery depletion and offer stronger cruising capabilities.
