What is the Difference Between Metal Film and Ceramic Film?
1 Answers
Metal film and ceramic film differ in the following aspects: 1. Different production processes: Metal film is produced using vacuum magnetron sputtering technology. The production principle involves uniformly sputtering rare metals such as gold, silver, titanium, nickel, and chromium onto a PET substrate. This process is pollution-free and does not release harmful substances like formaldehyde or benzene. However, it may slightly interfere with signals. On the other hand, ceramic film contains ultra-thin ceramic coatings like SiO2 and TiO2 on glass window film, without any metal layer. It does not interfere with the vehicle's GPS satellite navigation system, radio communication, or mobile phone reception. 2. Different heat insulation principles: Metal film reflects heat to provide insulation, while ceramic film uses spectral filtering for heat insulation. Metal film has higher internal reflectivity, whereas ceramic film has lower reflectivity. Additionally, ceramic film offers slightly better heat insulation performance compared to metal film.
