The differences between Mercedes-Benz GLE and Mercedes-Benz ML are: 1. Different body lengths: the Mercedes-Benz GLE is 4813mm long; the Mercedes-Benz ML is 4844mm long. 2. Different body widths: the Mercedes-Benz GLE is 1951mm wide; the Mercedes-Benz ML is 1926mm wide. 3. Different front track widths: the Mercedes-Benz GLE has a front track width of 1650mm; the Mercedes-Benz ML has a front track width of 1636mm. Both the Mercedes-Benz GLE and Mercedes-Benz ML are equipped with a 3.0T turbocharged engine, with a maximum horsepower of 272PS, a maximum power of 200kW, a maximum torque of 400Nm, and are matched with a 7-speed automatic transmission.

I find the relationship between the Mercedes-Benz GLE and ML quite interesting. Having driven several Mercedes SUVs, I know the ML was the older model from a few years ago. In 2015, Mercedes renamed the ML series to GLE as part of a brand realignment to unify naming conventions. The GLE's design is noticeably updated: the front fascia is sharper, featuring LED headlights, the interior space is slightly larger, and it now includes a touchscreen system. In terms of powertrain, the GLE introduced some hybrid options, making it more fuel-efficient than the older ML. Additionally, the GLE's technical safety systems have been upgraded, with features like automatic brake assist being more comprehensive. In terms of driving, the GLE's suspension is tuned for greater comfort, making it ideal for long-distance travel. Overall, the GLE is the modern iteration of the ML, maintaining its positioning as a mid-to-large luxury SUV.

As someone who frequently keeps an eye on new car models, the differences between the GLE and ML are quite noticeable from both exterior and interior perspectives. The GLE features smoother overall lines and more modern headlight designs, moving away from the boxy look of the older ML. Inside, the GLE incorporates more leather and metal trim, and has switched to a digital dashboard. The ML was Mercedes-Benz's classic SUV representative, but it has largely been replaced by the GLE—Mercedes discontinued the ML in 2015, with the GLE taking its place. Technologically, the GLE offers a wider range of engine options and better fuel efficiency. In terms of driving experience, the GLE is quieter thanks to optimized chassis design. For everyday use, the GLE comes with more tech features, such as voice-controlled navigation, making it feel like an evolution from the old-school to the new-school.

I've test-driven the GLE and driven a friend's ML, and the main differences lie in the upgrades. The ML was the previous series, and after Mercedes-Benz renamed it to the GLE, it was redesigned: the appearance is more stylish, and the interior materials are better; technologically, the GLE has a newer engine, lower fuel consumption, and more intelligent driving assistance systems. Essentially, the GLE is the successor model to the ML.
