The differences between Ford ST and RS: 1. Different appearance: The Ford ST uses a large number of black components on the front of the car, grille, etc., and is equipped with dual-color 18-inch wheels, a sport bumper, and a rear spoiler; the RS is equipped with an aerodynamic kit all over the body, and the huge black spoiler at the rear gives a strong visual impact. 2. Different engines: The Ford ST is equipped with a 1.5T three-cylinder turbocharged engine; the RS is equipped with a 2.3T engine. 3. Different power: The Ford ST has a maximum power of 250 kW and a peak torque of 345 Nm, matched with a 6-speed manual transmission, but does not come with an all-wheel drive system; the RS has a maximum power of 350 kW and a peak torque of 440 Nm, with the transmission system matched to a 6-speed manual transmission, and comes standard with an all-wheel drive system, using 19-inch wheels.
As an owner of a Ford Focus ST for five years, I believe the ST series is more suitable for daily commuting and city driving. With horsepower around 250, it accelerates quickly while being fuel-efficient, averaging about 7-8L/100km. The suspension is tuned to a moderate stiffness, making speed bumps less jarring. The interior features sport seats without compromising comfort, and insurance costs are reasonable. In comparison, the Focus RS is more like a track beast, boasting 350 horsepower and an all-wheel-drive system for strong cornering grip. However, after driving a friend's RS, I found it noisy, with fuel consumption exceeding 10L/100km, priced over 100,000 RMB more, and more expensive to maintain. For those of us prioritizing convenience, the ST offers much better value for money and is less tiring on long drives.
