There are differences in purpose and working principle between electronic gear shift and traditional gear shift in cars. Differences in purpose: Electronic gear shift is generally used in automatic transmissions, while traditional gear shift can be either manual or automatic, and is mechanical in nature. Differences in principle: Electronic gear shift achieves gear changes through electric motors, whereas traditional gear shift directly controls the transmission's manual valves via linkage. The electronic gear shift mainly consists of a gear lever and a gear lever sensor control unit. When the driver shifts into P, R, N, D, S, or M gear, the gear lever sensor sends an electrical signal, which is transmitted directly to the transmission through the sub-bus to execute the gear change.
