Differences between disc brakes and drum brakes: 1. Different braking methods: Disc brakes use brake pads to clamp onto the brake disc for braking; Drum brakes use hydraulic pressure to push brake shoes to inhibit tire rotation for braking. 2. Different components: Disc brakes consist of hydraulic control, brake discs, wheel cylinders, and brake calipers; Drum brakes consist of brake backing plates, wheel cylinders, and brake shoes. Disc brakes are also called hydraulic brakes or oil brakes, where heat accumulation can cause thermal fade, leading to faster heat dissipation. Sometimes, the brakes may emit a squealing noise, with a large contact area. Drum brakes can utilize the forward rotation of the wheel to increase braking force, and many high-displacement motorcycles use disc brakes on both the front and rear.

As someone who drives frequently, I find a huge difference between disc brakes and drum brakes. Disc brakes have a simple structure, just like two plates clamping a friction pad - easy to understand at a glance. They dissipate heat extremely fast and respond quickly during braking, especially maintaining stable braking performance during continuous downhill driving on mountain roads without that burnt smell. Drum brakes are more like a sealed cylinder that creates resistance by pressing internal shoes, costing less and not getting directly wet in rain. However, they dissipate heat slowly and are prone to overheating or even losing accuracy during prolonged braking. Personally, I prefer disc brakes as I find them more reliable in emergencies, they boost driving confidence a bit, and it's easier to check the pads when replacing them yourself.

Can You Apply Color Change Film Without the Green Book?

It is not possible to register a color change for a vehicle without the green book. According to Article 6 of Chapter 2 of the Road Traffic Safety Law, if the color change area of a motor vehicle does not exceed 30%, there is no need to register the change. Conversely, if it exceeds 30%, it must be recorded, and the registration must be completed within 10 days after the color change. Precautions for vehicle color changes: Before changing the color of a motor vehicle, it is necessary to consult the vehicle management office where the vehicle is registered to determine whether the region allows the use of film to change the vehicle's color. If the region does not support this method, the change cannot be registered, and the film must be completely removed to restore the vehicle's original color. Documents required for applying to change the body color of a motor vehicle: "Application Form for Motor Vehicle Change Registration." Identity proof of the motor vehicle owner and agent. Motor vehicle registration certificate. Motor vehicle driving license. Additionally, according to the "Motor Vehicle Registration Regulations," owners are no longer required to apply to the vehicle management office in advance. They can first change the vehicle's color, install body kits, replace the engine, etc., and then apply for change registration with the vehicle management office. According to Article 10, a registered motor vehicle must apply for change registration with the local vehicle management office in the following cases: Change of body color. Replacement of the engine. Replacement of the body or frame. Replacement of the entire vehicle due to quality issues. Change of use, such as converting a commercial vehicle to a non-commercial vehicle or vice versa. The motor vehicle owner's residence moves out of or into the jurisdiction of the vehicle management office. Furthermore, according to Article 15 of the "Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China": police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, and engineering rescue vehicles must be painted with designated patterns and equipped with alarms and signal lights as required. Other motor vehicles are prohibited from painting, installing, or using patterns, alarms, or signal lights similar to those designated for the above vehicles. According to Article 56 of the "Motor Vehicle Registration Regulations," if the body color is changed without completing the required change registration, the traffic management department of the public security authority may issue a warning or impose a fine. The vehicle may also be impounded and required to be restored to its original color.

Can I directly add tap water to the windshield wiper?

You should not directly add tap water to the windshield wiper. Tap water does not have cleaning properties and contains impurities, which may clog the washer nozzle. In winter, tap water is prone to freezing, and the expansion of frozen liquid can damage the washer fluid reservoir. It is recommended to use windshield washer fluid to clean the front windshield instead of tap water. If you run out of washer fluid, replenish it promptly. The windshield wiper, also known as a wiper blade, wiper, or windscreen wiper, is a device used to remove rain and dust from the vehicle's windshield, improving driver visibility and enhancing driving safety.
