What is the difference between car headlights with and without lenses?

Differences between car headlights with lenses and those without: 1. Some are xenon headlights. They can refract light over long distances. Moreover, lens headlights adjust the light distance according to the car's elevation changes. 2. After installing lenses, the headlights have better light concentration and appear brighter. Headlights with lenses offer advantages such as uniform brightness, strong penetration, and minimal light dispersion compared to those without lenses. 3. Lens headlights are divided into single-beam lenses and bi-beam lenses. Single-beam lenses can constrain light into either high beam or low beam, with the advantages of low cost and simple structure, but the disadvantage of being unsuitable for flashing. Bi-beam lenses are a set of lenses that can switch between high and low beams through mechanical structures and lens adjustments, meaning the headlight has only one bulb, and the high/low beam switching is achieved by changing the lens baffle. Bi-beam lenses can easily perform flashing operations. 4. Generally, low beams are equipped with lenses while high beams are not. The reason for this design is that low beams are most commonly used in urban roads, whereas high beams are rarely used. With lenses, low beams appear particularly concentrated, with distinct cut-off lines, preventing glare when viewed from the opposite side. Without lenses, the light is very scattered and appears more dazzling.
