What is the difference between blue license plates and green license plates?

Blue license plates and green license plates differ in their applicable vehicles: blue plates are for regular small vehicles; green plates are for pure electric, zero-emission vehicles. License plates, commonly known as car tags, are plates attached to the front and rear of a vehicle, typically made of aluminum, sheet metal, plastic, or paper, displaying the vehicle's registration number, registration region, or other relevant information. License plates serve to number and record information for each vehicle, primarily enabling identification of the vehicle's registered region and allowing access to the owner's details and registration information through the plate number.
I usually drive to and from work, and I often notice that the license plates on the road come in different colors. Blue plates are generally for gasoline-powered or regular hybrid vehicles, which still rely on fuel. Green plates are for new energy vehicles, including pure electric and plug-in hybrid models, which are much more environmentally friendly. The main differences lie in policy benefits: green-plate vehicles in many cities are exempt from traffic restrictions, while blue-plate vehicles must strictly follow the driving rules based on plate numbers; when parking, green-plate vehicles often enjoy free parking, while blue-plate vehicles still have to pay; when purchasing a car, green-plate vehicles also benefit from purchase tax exemptions and even subsidies. In daily use, charging a green-plate vehicle is much cheaper, costing just a few cents per kilometer, whereas fueling a blue-plate vehicle involves higher expenses. The downside is that finding a charging station for green-plate vehicles can sometimes be inconvenient, while blue-plate vehicles have the advantage of widespread gas stations. In the long run, green-plate vehicles are more cost-effective and eco-friendly, but you need to consider the charging infrastructure near your home. Driving a green-plate car feels quite rewarding, as it contributes a bit to environmental protection.
