The correct way to use an automatic transmission: 1. P (Park) gear - Engage this gear only after the vehicle has come to a complete stop. The drive wheels are then mechanically locked to prevent rotation. To shift out of this position, press the brake pedal and press the lock button on the gear lever handle; 2. R (Reverse) gear - Only engage the reverse gear when the vehicle is stationary and the engine is idling. Press the button on the gear lever handle to shift into or out of reverse gear; 3. N (Neutral) gear - With the ignition switch on, engage this gear when the vehicle is stationary or moving at a speed below 5 km/h. The gear lever will be locked by the solenoid. To shift out of this gear, press the brake pedal while pressing the handle button. At speeds above 5 km/h, simply press the handle button to shift into or out of N gear; 4. D (Drive) gear - This is the gear typically used for normal driving. In D gear, the transmission control unit automatically shifts between gears 1 to 4 based on parameters such as vehicle speed and engine load.
