What is the correct warm-up time for a car?

The correct warm-up time is about 30 seconds to 1 minute. The purpose of warming up a car is mainly to preheat the engine and ensure sufficient lubrication. If the engine warm-up time is too short, the engine components will not be adequately lubricated, leading to wear and tear. If the engine warm-up time is too long, carbon deposits may occur. During a cold start at idle, the temperature inside the engine cylinder is very low, and this temperature directly affects the atomization of gasoline. The lower the temperature, the poorer the atomization, resulting in incomplete fuel combustion, which can easily cause carbon buildup in the engine. Reasons why a car needs to be warmed up: After prolonged parking, the engine oil flows back into the oil pan. Before the engine reaches its operating temperature, the fuel supply system cannot effectively vaporize gasoline due to the low temperature. When parked, the gear oil flows to the lower part of the transmission, leaving the upper part without lubrication during a cold start.
