What is the correct procedure for parking and turning off an Audi A4?

Bring the vehicle to a complete stop, then shift into P (Park) and engage the parking brake (skip this step if equipped with an automatic parking brake). Engage the parking brake, release the foot brake, and wait a few seconds for the vehicle to stabilize before shifting into P (Park) and turning off the engine.
When I first got my A4, I specifically researched this issue. The key is actually to allow the electronic systems to shut down in an orderly manner. After parking, first firmly press the brake and shift to N gear, then conveniently pull the electronic handbrake (the button with a P next to the gear lever). The dashboard will display a red P symbol. Next, shift the gear into P, and you'll hear the click of the transmission locking. Finally, press the ignition button to turn off the engine. There's a detail here: remember to turn off Audi's auto start-stop in advance, otherwise the system may misjudge. Once I forgot to turn it off, and the car started again the moment I turned off the engine, which gave me a scare. After forming this routine, I haven't had any transmission error issues for three years.
