What is the correct method to start the 14th-generation Sylphy?

First lift the clutch to the semi-engagement point, then gently lift the clutch while applying throttle. This is the most commonly used and universal starting method. Finding the semi-engagement position makes starting very easy. Simply lifting the clutch to the semi-engagement position can start the car on level ground, even without applying throttle. Apply light throttle first, then lift the clutch. First lightly press the accelerator to maintain engine speed between 800-1000 RPM, then gently lift the clutch to start.
Every time I start my 14th-generation Sylphy, I first look around to confirm there are no pedestrians or vehicles—safety first. After pressing the brake to start the engine and shifting to D gear, I don’t release the handbrake immediately. Instead, I wait for the system to stabilize before gently tapping the accelerator to start. This ensures a smooth start without jerking or surging forward, especially on slopes where I need to be cautious about the auto-hold function to prevent rolling. I also make it a habit to glance at the dashboard before starting to confirm no warning lights are on, such as low tire pressure or the oil light. Maintaining gentle throttle not only ensures driving safety but also benefits engine longevity by reducing unnecessary wear. Starting too abruptly not only wastes fuel but also risks tire damage, negatively impacting the overall driving experience.
