What is the correct method to start a Passat automatic transmission car?

After the driver sits in the driver's seat, there is no need to press the brake pedal. Simply press the start button once, and the ACC light will illuminate as the vehicle performs a self-check. Press the brake pedal, then press the start button again to ignite and start the engine. Under normal circumstances, the engine will start within 3 seconds of pressing the ignition switch. Release the foot brake; you can choose to warm up the car while stationary, with the duration depending on the environment. Specifically, you can refer to the water temperature gauge on the dashboard. Press the foot brake again, shift to D gear, and release the handbrake (for electronic handbrakes, simply press the button briefly). Before starting, ensure to observe the road conditions clearly through the rearview mirrors.
When driving an automatic transmission Passat, I usually start like this. First, fasten the seatbelt to ensure safety, then check if all dashboard indicators are normal. With my foot on the brake pedal, I confirm the car is in P (Park) position, then turn the key or press the start button to ignite. After the engine runs smoothly, shift the gear from P to D (Drive) while keeping my foot on the brake. Next, release the handbrake; the Passat may have an electronic parking brake, which automatically releases with a button press. Then gradually release the brake pedal, allowing the car to creep forward, and gently press the accelerator for a smooth start. I've noticed it's easier to start on a slope because the D gear has anti-rollback functionality. After starting, observe the surroundings to avoid sudden acceleration that could harm the transmission. Remember not to start by coasting in neutral to prevent damage to transmission components. Using this method daily in my Passat ensures smooth and safe starts.
