What is the correct method for pressing and releasing the clutch?

When you press the clutch to shift gears and the car's speed hasn't yet increased, the clutch should be released slowly. Releasing the clutch too quickly can cause the engine to stall. The correct operation is to slowly release the clutch until the engine starts to vibrate, then release the brake pedal and immediately press the accelerator to follow up. If the clutch pedal is not fully pressed down when shifting gears, it can cause a "gear grinding" phenomenon. Doing this frequently can cause significant damage to the transmission.
