Subject 4, also known as Subject 4 theoretical exam or driver's theoretical exam, is part of the motor vehicle driver's license assessment. The main content includes: safety and civilized driving operation requirements, safe driving knowledge under adverse weather and complex road conditions, emergency handling methods for situations like tire blowouts, and accident response knowledge. The Subject 4 exam consists of 50 questions, primarily presented in the form of case studies, images, and animations. The total score is 100 points, with 90 points required to pass. After the implementation of the Ministry of Public Security's Order No. 123, Subject 3 exam was divided into two parts: besides the road test, a safety and civilized driving knowledge test was added, commonly known as "Subject 4", which assesses "driving ethics". As this test is conducted after Subject 3, people generally refer to it as the Subject 4 exam. Officially, there is no actual Subject 4 designation. Before the exam, students can study traffic regulations through driver's mock exam software on mobile devices or computers.
