What is the compression ratio of the Envision?

The compression ratio of the Envision's engine is 9.5. Both excessively high and low compression ratios can affect the vehicle. Excessive Compression Ratio: If an engine has a higher compression ratio, it means the air-fuel mixture is compressed under greater pressure and at a relatively higher temperature. This results in more complete vaporization of the gasoline in the mixture, making it easier to ignite. When fully compressed and ignited by the spark plug, the mixture releases more energy in a very short time. This energy is then transmitted through components like the piston and crankshaft, ultimately driving the wheels and propelling the vehicle forward. Insufficient Compression Ratio: If an engine has a lower compression ratio, the gasoline molecules do not vaporize as completely. Consequently, after ignition by the spark plug, the combustion process is relatively slower. This means some of the energy is converted into heat, raising the engine temperature, rather than being fully converted into the vehicle's kinetic energy. Therefore, with the same cylinder volume, a higher compression ratio results in greater power output.
