What is the Chinese meaning of ESP?

ESP stands for Electronic Stability Program in Chinese. The function of the ESP system is to monitor the driving state of the vehicle and prevent the vehicle from deviating from the ideal trajectory when understeering or oversteering occurs during emergency obstacle avoidance or turning. ESP analyzes the vehicle driving state information transmitted from various sensors, and then sends correction instructions to ABS, EBD, etc. to help the vehicle maintain dynamic balance. The working principle of ESP is: under certain road conditions and vehicle load conditions, the maximum adhesion force that the wheels can provide is a fixed value, that is, in extreme cases, the longitudinal force and lateral force on the wheels have a trade-off relationship. The electronic stability program can control the longitudinal braking force of each wheel separately and influence the lateral force, thereby improving the vehicle's handling performance.
ESP is called Electronic Stability Program in Chinese, which is essentially the computer-controlled system in cars specifically designed to prevent skidding. I've encountered several emergency avoidance situations while driving, and I could distinctly feel the ESP subtly assisting with steering, preventing the wheels from spinning out of control. This system works in tandem with the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), proving particularly useful during snowy conditions or high-speed cornering. It performs dozens of checks per second, and when it detects any signs of skidding, it automatically applies brakes to different wheels, much like an invisible hand helping to straighten the steering wheel. Since the mandatory installation of ESP, the accident rate on slippery roads has significantly decreased.
