Euro III standards are equivalent to China's National III standards. In the Euro III emission standards, the limits for hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and particulate matter in commercial vehicle exhaust are 0.66%, 2.1%, 5%, and 0.1%, respectively. The European standards are implemented through the emission regulations of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and the current EU emission directives. China's National III standard is the third phase of China's vehicle emission standards, equivalent to the Euro III emission standard, meaning the exhaust pollutant levels are comparable to Euro III. The difference is that new vehicles must be equipped with an OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) system.
