What is the China 6 Vehicle Emission Standard?

China 6 Vehicle Emission Standard refers to the vehicle exhaust emission standard, where 'China 6' is the abbreviation for the sixth stage of the national motor vehicle pollutant emission standard. In order of increasing stringency, the emission standards are: China 2, China 3, China 4, China 5, and China 6. According to national requirements, the China 6 standard is implemented in two phases: 1. Starting from July 1, 2020, all light-duty vehicles sold and registered must comply with the China 6a limit requirements; 2. Starting from July 1, 2023, all light-duty vehicles sold and registered must comply with the China 6b limit requirements. China 6a serves as a transitional phase between China 5 and China 6, while China 6b represents the true China 6 emission standard. The hydrocarbon and nitrogen oxide levels in the China 6b phase are 50% lower than those in the China 6a phase.
