However, car ownership differs from motor vehicle ownership, which includes motorcycles, agricultural vehicles, etc. Domestic Data: In the first half of 2018, newly registered motor vehicles reached 16.36 million, higher than the 15.94 million registrations in the same period in 2017. The ownership of new energy vehicles reached 1.99 million, while private car ownership reached 180 million. Since 2018, the monthly average increase in ownership has been 1.66 million, maintaining rapid and continuous growth. Urban Car Ownership: Currently, 58 cities in China have car ownership exceeding one million, with 7 cities surpassing three million. The ownership of trucks reached 24.70 million, with 1.72 million newly registered trucks in the first half of 2018, significantly higher than the 1.56 million registrations in the same period in 2017, marking a historical peak.
